Deep groove ball bearings (GB/T 276-2013)-formerly known as single-row radial ball bearings-are the most widely used type of rolling bearing.  They are characterized by low frictional resistance and high rotational speeds. They can be used in components subjected to radial loads or combined radial and axial loads, as well as in applications involving axial loads; examples include low-power electric motors, automotive and tractor transmissions, machine tool gearboxes, and general machinery and tools.

Deep groove ball bearings represent the most common type of rolling bearing.

 

A standard deep groove ball bearing consists of an outer ring, an inner ring, a set of steel balls, and a cage. These bearings are available in single-row and double-row configurations and come in either sealed or open designs. "Open" refers to bearings without integral seals, while sealed types include dust-proof and oil-proof versions. Dust-proof shields are made of stamped steel and serve primarily to prevent dust from entering the bearing raceway. Oil-proof versions utilize contact-type oil seals that effectively prevent lubricant leakage from within the bearing.
