The 7300 series is designed for heavy-load, moderate-speed industrial working conditions including reducers, air compressors and construction machinery. Brass cages are the preferred option for this bearing series mainly for the below reasons:

Brass owns outstanding mechanical strength and structural rigidity. It can resist deformation under heavy radial and axial loads as well as impact loads, avoiding cage fracture or distortion caused by large bearing dynamic force.

It runs stably at medium rotating speeds and generates little vibration & noise, effectively guiding rolling balls evenly during operation.

Brass has excellent thermal conductivity, which quickly dissipates friction heat inside the bearing and prevents excessive temperature buildup under continuous heavy-duty operation.

The material features good wear resistance and compatibility with both grease and circulating oil lubrication, adapting to diverse lubrication modes of heavy machinery.

Answer 7300 series belongs to the 3-series large cross-section bearings. Its load capacity is over 40% higher than 7200 series, with better shock resistance and anti-overturning performance, yet lower limiting speed. It is mainly used for heavy-duty industrial equipment, while 7200 series is applied to medium-load and high-speed scenarios.

Q2: Which contact angle is the most popular for general industrial machinery?

Answer 25° AC type is the first choice for general applications. It balances rotating speed, radial load and axial thrust, suitable for more than 90% conventional working conditions of reducers, air compressors and water pumps.

Q3: Can a single 7300 bearing bear bidirectional axial load independently?

Answer No. A single-row angular contact ball bearing can only withstand unidirectional axial force. It must be installed in pairs (DB/DF) with two or more bearings to support bidirectional axial loads.

Q4: Which precision grade should be selected for heavy-duty gearboxes?

Higher cost: Brass raw material and machining cost are far higher than stamped steel cages and phenolic resin cages.

Heavier weight: Extra cage mass increases centrifugal force, so brass cages are not fit for ultra-high-speed working scenarios.

Larger inertia: Unsuitable for precision high-speed spindles that demand ultra-low dynamic inertia.

Slightly higher friction loss than polymer cages under light-load low-speed conditions.
